Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Uttar Pradesh

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Uttar Pradesh Online

Step 1 – If you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh then the first step to apply for Voter ID Card through Online Portal is to visit the website of National Voter’s Services Portal. This is a portal which works on a national scale and it has unified the application process of getting the voter ID card. The link for the National Voter’s Services Portal is www.nvsp.in

Step 2 – On the NVSP you need to find the form 6. The link for Form 6 is located on the homepage and you can click on the option to Apply or Register online as a New Voter to go to the Form 6. Form 6 is the single important form that needs to be filled to get the voter ID card.

Step 3 – Start filling form 6 and the first thing you need to enter is the district and polling booth details. It is also possible to change the language of the form but currently, not many options are available. The department is working to add support for more regional languages.

Step 4 – In step 4, you need to upload the documents for the age proof, address proof and a photo of yourself. Once that is done, you can submit the form but before submitting the form, ensure that you enter all the details correctly as you will not be able to correct them form in the later stages.

Step 5 – Once the form is filled completely, you can submit the form by clicking on the submit button below. The application process for the voter ID card is now complete. Like earlier days, you do not have to mail the physical copy of the form as all these systems are now digitalized. You would have also received an application number on the screen and you need to keep that application number safely so as to track the status of the voter ID card application at a later point in time.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Uttar Pradesh Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Uttar Pradesh.
