Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Telangana

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Telangana Online

CEO Telangana – This is probably the easiest way to apply for voter ID card in any city. It doesn’t require you to visit the CEO office and the process doesn’t need any help from any person. To begin the process, you can first go to the CEO portal of Telangana. The link to the website is listed below.


Form 6 – On the website of Chief Electoral Officer, you have to click on E-Registration from the top menu bar. This will display a drop-down menu. From the list of options, click on Assembly Constituency and then click on Form 6 (New Enrollment). You will now automatically be taken to form 6 on the NVSP website.

There is an alternative to this as well and the alternative is to visit the National Voter’s Services Portal and then go to the Form 6 from the NVSP. The link to Form 6 is listed on the NVSP website and the link for NVSP is

Filling Details in Form 6 – Once you are on form 6, you can start filling the form by entering all your personal details. One point that you must take care of is the fact that you can’t change the details after submitting the form and hence exercise extra caution while filling in the details on the Form.

Submitting Relevant Documents – You also need to submit the documents digitally so as to ensure that the form is processed on time. Without the documents, you would not be able to submit the form and the application would remain incomplete if you are wondering that what are the documents that you would need to submit on Form 6 then you just need an address proof, an age proof and a photograph on the form. Submitting Form 6 – Now, the last step of the procedure is to submit the Form 6. Once you submit the form 6, you would need to save the application ID that is displayed on the form as the details can then be used to track the form.

Verification and Closure of Application – Your role is now over and the role of the CEO office begins. Their role is to verify the details and issue you the Voter ID card. There might also be a physical verification at your residence and the voter ID card will only be issued once the formalities are completed.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Telangana Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Telangana.
