CEO Portal Sikkim – To begin the application process for the voter ID card in Sikkim, you can first visit the online portal of CEO Sikkim. The portal can be found with help of a single search on google but if you are unable to find the portal then simply follow the link mentioned below. This portal has all the information regarding the elections. On this portal, you will notice a set of buttons just below the menu bar so you can now go ahead and click on Online Voter Registration from those buttons.

National Voter’s Services Portal – Clicking on Online Voter Registration will automatically take you to National Voter’s Services Portal. This portal is designed to provide all sort of services related to Voter ID card to the voters in India. Now on the homepage of this portal, find the link for the Online Application/Registration of Voters and click on the link. This will now take you to form 6. It should be noted that if you are unable to find NVSP then you can also follow the link mentioned below.

Entering Details in Form 6 – Now, you must be having Form 6 displayed on your screen and the next step is to fill in the form. The major drawback of the system is that you can’t correct the details after submitting the form and hence you need to be very careful while entering the details on Form 6.

Uploading Proofs on Form 6 – On the same page, you will also have to upload the documents for the age proof, address proof, and a photo. Once you upload these documents, you would also have to select the document type in the corresponding space. Upload all the documents carefully and ensure that the description matches with the documents type.

Submitting Form 6 – Post submission of documents, you can click on the submit button at the bottom of the form. Once that is done, a reference ID will be generated and you can keep note down the reference ID for future reference.

Waiting for Voter ID Card – Now your part is over and the wait for the voter ID starts. It can take almost 60 days for your Voter ID card to reach you. In the background, there is a verification process going on in regards to your form 6. An officer from CEO Office might also visit your residential address to verify the details. Once all that is done, you will receive your Voter ID card via post.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Sikkim Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Sikkim.
