Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Punjab

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Punjab Online

Step 1 – To begin the Application Procedure for Voter ID card in Punjab, you can complete the first step by visiting the website for CEO Punjab. Once you are on the website, you will notice that there is a link for Online Voter Registration on the right side of the page. Click on the link and you will automatically be redirected to NVSP. The link to the Chief Electoral Officer Website in Punjab is mentioned below

Step 2 – In the next step, you need to go to the Form 6 from the NVSP. You are already on National Voter Services Portal so now you have to go ahead and click on the registration link for the website. The link is present on the homepage itself. You will now be redirected to Form 6. The link for NVSP is mentioned below

Step 3 – In the third step, you need to fill in the details in Form 6. You would have to enter the details of your district and polling booth followed by the personal details. You can also add the EPC number of one of your extreme family members in the form. You must be extra careful while filling in the details in the form as there is no way presently to amend the form. In addition to this, the form is only available in English, Hindi, and Malayalam. The government is planning to add support for more languages.

Step 4 – Once you have filled in the details, you can then upload the documents for the age proof, address proof and photo and then you can submit the documents. Post submission, you will receive an application ID on the page and your job would be over now.

Step 5 – The CEO office will now start verifying your documents and an officer will also visit you for the verification of your identity. Once all that is done, you will receive your Voter ID card by post.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Punjab Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Punjab.
