Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Mizoram

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Mizoram Online

CEO Mizoram – To apply for Voter ID Card in Mizoram, you need to visit the CEO Portal of Mizoram. The full form of CEO is Chief Electoral Officer and this website will provide you all the necessary information about the elections. The website for CEO can be found by a quick search on google search engine but you can also use the link mentioned below

Online Registration – On the CEO website, you will see a menu option on the top of the page. From the list of options, you need to click on the Electoral Rolls. A drop-down menu will be displayed and from the drop-down menu, select Online Registration. You will now be taken to an external website which is nothing but NVSP Portal. NVSP is National Voter’s Services Portal and the link to the portal is mentioned below

Form 6 – If you follow the process mentioned above then you will automatically be taken to Form 6 but if you access the NVSP through the link shared then you need to click on the Voter Registration to get the Form 6 on your screen. You would now need to fill up the Form 6 as this is the base requirement for applying for the Voter ID card.

Submit the Documents Online – You would also need to submit the age proof, address proof and photograph online through the NVSP portal. There is dedicated space for the same in the portal. Once you upload the documents, you can submit the form and take down the reference number shared with you.

Verification and Issue of Voter ID – The CEO Office will now conduct various types of verification which would also include a physical verification at your house. Once the verification is done, the voter ID card will be issued and mailed to you via Indian Post.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Mizoram Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Mizoram.
