Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Maharashtra

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Maharashtra Online

Step 1 – So the first step to apply for the Voter ID Card in Maharashtra is to navigate to the Chief Electoral Officer’s portal in Maharashtra. Just like every state, Maharashtra also has a CEO portal. This portal is to provide all the information about the elections and in addition to this, the portal also provides services to the candidates and voters. To navigate to the CEO Portal, follow the link mentioned below

Step 2 – In the second step, you need click on Online Voter Registration. This button is present on the top menu bar on the homepage. It is quite easy to locate the button but if you are not able to find the button then you can also go ahead and follow the link mentioned below.

Step 3 – Now, on the page for Online Voter Registration, you will see a list of forms and the purpose of the forms. In this list, you need to select Form 6 which is basically for Inclusion of names for Residents Electors. On clicking on this button, you will be redirected to a digital version of Form 6.

Alternatively, you can also visit the National Voter Services Portal online and then go to Form 6 from there by clicking on the Voter Registration. The web address for National Voter’s Services Portal is www.nvsp.in

Step 4 – Once you are on Form 6, you would then need to fill up the form. You can also change the language of the form if you want to and now, fill up all the mandatory details in the form. This is certainly easy to follow.

Step 5 – After filling in the details, you must upload the documents required. The set of documents required includes the age proof, address proof, and the photograph. You can scan the documents and upload them to the portal.

Step 6 – After uploading the documents, submit the form and note down the application number. A lot of people get confused and they are not sure if they have to print the form and mail it to someone but as per the standard procedure, there is no need to mail the form to anyone.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Maharashtra Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Maharashtra.
