Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Kerala

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Kerala Online

Step 1 – First step to apply for voter ID card in Kerala is to visit the CEO Kerala’s official website. CEO stands for Chief Electoral Officer and the official website of CEO Kerala is http://www.ceo.kerala.gov.in/

Step 2 – In the second step, after navigating to the website, you can scroll down and click on Online Voter Registration. This will take you to a new page where a link for NVSP will be displayed. NVSP stands for National Voter’s Services Portal and you have to click on this link. You can also access the NVSP Portal by going directly to www.nvsp.in

Step 3 – In the third steps, you need to click on Apply Online for Registration of New Voter link on NVSP. This will directly take you to Form 6. This form is required to be filled by the applicant for the issue of the new voter Card.

Step 4 – In the fourth step, you need to fill the Form 6 completely and do ensure that you do not miss out on any mandatory details. Enter your mobile number in the form as well to make it easy for the officials to call you. After filling in all the details, go ahead and attach the documents required for the age proof, address proof and your recent passport size photograph.

Step 5 – In the final step, Verify the form once you have completely filled the form and submit the form. You will now be taken to a new page wherein you will have a reference ID displayed. Note this reference ID and keep it safe with you as you might need it in future to track the Voter ID Card.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Kerala Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Kerala.
