Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Himachal Pradesh

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Himachal Pradesh Online

Visit CEO Portal – To apply for the Voter ID Card in Himachal Pradesh you can start the process by visiting the Chief Electoral Office Portal for Himachal Pradesh. Navigate to Form 6 – Once you visit the CEO portal, the next step is to find the Form 6. If you do not know what form 6 is then let us tell you that Form 6 is a form required to be submitted for getting the voter ID Card. To navigate to Form 6, you can click on Voter Registration on the top menu bar and this will take you to a new page. On this page, click on Form 6.

Alternate to Find Form 6 – An alternative way to find form 6 is to go to the National Voter’s Services Portal directly. You can visit the NVSP portal by going to www.nvsp.in. On this portal, you will notice a link for the new Voter Registration. If you click on the link, you will automatically be taken to Form 6. You can follow any of the ways of opening the Form 6.

Fill The Details – Now you have the Form 6 with you and the next step is to fill the form 6. You have to start by filling in the details of the state and district. Once that is done, you would then have to fill in your personal details. Ensure that you do not miss filling out on any of the important detail. We also recommend you to fill in your mobile number on the form.

Upload the Documents – On the same form, you will have an option to upload the documents and you would have to upload the documents for the address proof and age proof. Apart from these documents, you would also have to upload your photo on the portal as this photograph will be printed on your voter ID card.

Submit the Form – Once the documents have been uploaded, you can verify the form for the important details and then click on submit button. This will automatically take you to a new page where you will find a reference ID. This reference ID is also the application number and you can note it down for the future reference.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Himachal Pradesh Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Himachal Pradesh.
