Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Gujarat

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Gujarat Online

  • CEO Portal Gujarat– To start the process, you need to first visit the CEO Portal of Gujarat. CEO Stands for Chief Electoral Officer and this is the regional office that provides all support regarding the voter registration. You can visit the portal by following this link https://ceo.gujarat.gov.in/Default
  • NVSP Portal – On the CEO portal, you will find a button for Online Voter Registration and you need to click on this button to proceed with the process. Do not worry if you are not able to find the button as you can access the NVSP portal directly by following this link – http://www.nvsp.in/
  • Form 6 – Next step is to find the Form 6 which is required to be filled by you for applying for the Voter Card. To get the online version of Form 6, Click on register new voter on the National Voter’s Services Portal. You will automatically be taken to Form 6 now.
  • Data Upload – This is the most important part of the process as you need to fill the data in Form 6. The data should be correct as there is no provision to update the data after submitting the form. In this stage of the process, you would also have to submit the age proof, photograph and address proof. The documents should reconcile with the data provided by you in the form.
  • Form Submission – Now, verify all the details filled by you in the form and submit the form. You should also get an application reference ID and it is really important for you to make a note of this number because the government has made it possible to track the status of the Voter Card through this reference ID.
  • Verification and Dispatch – Post submission of Form 6, the authority will then start verifying the details provided by you and an officer from the electoral office will visit you at your home to verify your identity. It is also an important step as the voter ID card will only be issued post verification. The card is later dispatched through the Indian post and the complete process can take almost 2 months to be completed.

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Gujarat.
