Eligibility Criteria for Voter ID Card in Bihar

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified, is eligible to be registered as a voter in the roll of the part/polling area of the constituency where he is ordinarily resident.

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Bihar Online

The first step of the process is to find the website for the Chief Electoral Officer in Bihar. After finding the website, visit the website and if in case you are not able to find the website then click on this link – http://ceobihar.nic.in/ On this website, click on the Citizen Services/Online Registration in the top menu bar and this will now redirect you to the National Voter’s Services Portal.

You can also access the portal directly from the link – http://www.nvsp.in/
On this portal, click on the link for new registration which will basically take you to the online version of Form 6. This form is required to be filled by you for applying for the Voter Card.

Fill in the form and upload the documents mentioned above. It should be noted that you would not be able to correct the details in the form after submitting it and hence be very careful about what you will. Verify the details if required and check the information in English as well as in Regional Language.

Submit the form after completing all the steps and you will then be given an application reference number which can be used for tracking the application as well.

In the later stages of the process, an officer might visit you at the residential address provided by you in the form to confirm your identity and the voter card will be issued post verification. The maximum time taken in completion of the process is 60 days.

 

Here is How to Apply New Voter ID Card in Bihar Offline

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Bihar.
