Follow the steps mentioned below to apply for a new voter ID card in Andaman and Nicobar.

  • To apply for a voter ID card in Andaman and Nicobar, you would first have to go to the website of the Election Department of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The link to the website is http://as1.and.nic.in/newElection/#
  • Wait for the website to be displayed completely and once the website is displayed, you can simply scroll down and navigate to the Citizen’s Corner.
  • In Citizen Corner, you will find a link for New Voter Registration and you need to click on this link and the link will then redirect you to Form 6.
  • If in case you are not able to fund the form then you may click on the link mentioned below. The link will redirect you to Form 6 which is basically the form for registration of new voter.

  • Now, start by filling in the details of the district and then enter all the personal details along with your address. At bottom of the form, you would have to upload the scanned document proofs for the age and the address. It should be noted that you would also have to upload a photograph of yourself for the voter ID. The same photo will be printed on the voter ID.
  • After uploading the documents, click on the submit button and a reference ID will be displayed on the screen. You can track your application using this reference ID.
  • In the later stages, a physical verification will be conducted at your house and the voter card will be issued after the successful verification. It should ideally take 2 to 3 months for the voter ID card to reach you through the post.

Step 1: Get an application form from the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency, or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

Step 2: Alternatively you can download the form from the website of the Election Commission here: Form 6

Step 3: Fill and submit the Form 6 along with the needed documents to the Electoral Registration Officer or the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency or the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 4: After the successful form submission BLO will visit your residence address for verification purpose and then resubmit your details to CEO Andaman & Nicobar.
